“Women and the Vote: Centennial Calendar” — is a calendar and also a keepsake for the centennial of the 19th Amendment. It is 9”X12”, spiral-bound and covers 18 months — including the centennial year 2020 and the academic year 2019-2020. It includes:
The calendar brings to life the long and long forgotten history of women’s suffrage; it honors leaders from Sojourner Truth to Alice Paul and the many hundreds of thousands of women who labored to extend the basic right to vote in the United States to women. Its pages provide a thought-provoking window into a two hundred year history, one intertwined with struggles for the right to vote for African Americans, the poor, immigrants, Hispanics, American Indians, and others.
“Women and the Vote” also serves as a reminder that the story of universal suffrage is still unfolding. As suffragist Crystal Eastman reminded her sisters after the passage of the 19th Amendment, “Now we can begin.”
The WNDC Educational Foundation, https://wndceducationalfoundation.org (a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3), worked with historians, the Belmont Paul Museum, the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs, the Elizabeth Cody Stanton Foundation, and others to create the calendar. It has been reviewed and approved by the National Archives and the National Park Service and is available in their shops at the Archives, the Lincoln Memorial and the Belmont Paul Museum as well as through
The Calendar is now available for purchase on Amazon.
